Mr Boo Boon Khoo

Boo Boon Khoo has graduated from Deakin University, Australia. With more than 20 years’ experience in banking, Boo Boon has been responsible for transaction banking, product management, digital banking, cyber security and technology for local and international banks. He is a member of various industry groups including SWIFT, Hong Kong Fintech Association (FTAHK), Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM). He is recognized as a Technocrat in the Innovation & FinTech industry.

Throughout his career, Boo Boon continues to show extraordinary passion for the industry through numerous volunteering engagements. Boo Boon has served as the Board Director at the Hong Kong Foreign Financial Institutions Association from 2014 to 2017, and he has been nominated to Co-Chair the Digital Banking Group at FATHK. Boo Boon has received the fellowships from HKCS and MIM.

Boo Boon is highly regarded as technically knowledgeable in promoting Digital Banking channels which he has won numerous banking awards. As a senior vice president, he has led his incumbent bank to win the Best USD Clearing Bank in Asia Pacific awarded by the Asian Banker in 2017.

Boo Boon has previously held many important roles within banking including North Asia Head – International Cash Product Management & Digital Banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland NV, and Vice President – Head of Cash Product Management & Implementation at ABN AMRO Bank NV.

Mr Egidio Zarrella

Edge has had a career of over 30 years within the profession.  He spend most of his global and regional career within Asia.  As the Clients & Innovation Partner he has worked for the last ten years based in China.  Edge is one of KPMG’s quoted partners globally in the press. Edge has written many articles and has appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines, radio, internet, sites, blogs, and television globally. In the last ten years, he has developed significant thought leadership and spoken at many global forums on China.  He has been as opening keynote speaker at many Chinese and international events on outsourcing and offshoring to China.  In this role, he has helped build and foster greater understanding of what is happening in China from a business, and technology space.  He is currently promoting the rise of China’s AI and cognitive industries. He is the Senior Partner of the firm’s largest financial accounts which includes significant presence in China.

Some recent roles he has had in KPMG relevant to bringing China to the fore:

· KPMG Global Head of IT Advisory – 8 years – US$1.5 billion business

· KPMG Regional Head of Advisory – 7 years – US$150 million business

Mr John Wang
    Managing Director, Australia China Investment Fund

With law degrees from both University of Sydney and Peking University, Mr John Wang has been providing services to Chinese investors to invest into Australia for over 30 years. Mr John Wang, as the main shareholder and Managing Director of Australia China Investment Fund, is managing over $250 million investment fund and successfully assisting many Chinese investors to invest in multiple areas in Australia.

Mr John Wang is also actively participating in charity works. He has been donating and also participating in person “Shanghai BabyHome” providing surgery operation services for orphaned children, and “Chengdu Miaoxi Charity Foundation” providing long-term supports to children from leprosy families.

Mr Kia Jing Tan
    CFO, Ambow Education Group

Mr. Kia Jing Tan (“KJ Tan”)graduated from Deakin University, Australia. Mr. Tan is a Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant with CPA Australia and a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore. Mr. Tan has more than ten years audit and management experience in manufacturing, consumer and properties industries with Big Four Accounting Firms in both Singapore and China.  He has also participated in the IPO and listing of corporate clients in major stock exchanges in Singapore, Hong Kong and United States of America. He is an expert in International Financial Reporting Standards, US GAAP and accounting standards of mainland China. Mr. Tan joins Ambow Education Group (NYSE: AMBO) in 2008, and has since served in the role of Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance and ultimately, Chief Financial Officer of Ambow Education Group. He has helped Ambow to establish a solid international standard financial management system and strategic development structure that suits the Company’s business demand. As a key core players of management team, he leads a series of the company’s financing activities, acquisitions, IPO and major shareholders restructuring of Ambow Education Group. Mr. Tan shown extreme professionalism, expertise and responsibilities when Ambow went into a series of crisis such as independent investigation, joint provisional liquidation and delisting from New York Stock Exchange. With Mr. Tan’s leadership, Ambow has been up listed in NYSE again in June 2018, which created a miracle in the NYSE history and greatly stimulated the international capital market’s confidence in Chinese US-listed companies.

Mr Siu Wing Lam

Benny Lam is a senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Assurance Services group in Shanghai. PwC is one of the Big Four CPA firms globally. Benny has more than 30 years working experience in this profession and has worked in Australia (5 years), Hong Kong (6 years) and China (22 years). 

Benny is an audit and business advisory specialist and has extensive experience in providing audit, business advice and due diligence services to multinational companies investing in China and working with other professionals to assist domestic enterprises in listing their shares on the Chinese and overseas stock exchanges. He has plentiful capital market transaction experience.

Benny has participated in IPOs/ recurring audits of China National Petroleum Corporation, China Communications Construction Corporation, China Metallurgical Group Corporation, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd, and more.  Through the above-mentioned activities, he has acquired a thorough understanding of the operation of construction and many other industries in China.

Benny is a fellow member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He graduated from Macquarie University and NSW University in Australia and had obtained B. Econ. Degree and M. Com. Degree respectively.

Dr William Chen

Dr William Chen has more than 20 years’ financial and business management experience with local and global high-growth companies in the Greater China and Asia Pacific region. Since joining Hui Lau Shan in 2011, Dr Chen has worked as CFO and been at the helm of company’s growth and expansion into markets in China, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, France and North America and is currently HK General Manager of the company. Being trained as certified accountant, Dr Chen obtained bachelor, master and doctorate degrees from Australia universities.

Further to his contribution to food & beverage sector, Dr Chen shows commitment to education and accountancy & finance professional development. Dr Chen currently sits on the Griffith University’s Business School Strategic Advisory Board as an international member and is also an Adjunct Professor of the Business School. He is North Asia Board member of Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and Chairman of CIMA HK Branch. Dr Chen has served a specialist and financial expert of HKCAAVQ and been finance committee member of Habitat for Humanity HK.

Dr Chen won the Griffith Business School’s International Outstanding Alumnus Award and CGMA China Most Valued CFO of the Year 2016 Highly Recommended Award.
