This award recognises alumni who have excelled in a wide variety of financial areas, including accounting, investment, banking and financial planning.

All nominees should hold senior position and have demonstrated an outstanding record of achievement however they need not necessarily work for a financial institution.

Donna is the Chief Operating Officer & Alternate Chief Executive of Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft, Hong Kong SAR, and a Consultative Council member of the Hong Kong Association of Banks.  She is also a Board member of DB Trustees Hong Kong Limited, DB Nominees Hong Kong Limited, Deutsche Capital Hong Kong Limited and DWS Investments Hong Kong Limited.  

In her tenure with Deutsche Bank, she has served in Malaysia, Singapore and currently in Hong Kong SAR with over 1,200 staff.  She is responsible for the development of the Hong Kong franchise, oversight of infrastructure controls and governance framework.   Donna is an advocate for gender diversity, promotes an inclusive workforce and provide coaching for fresh graduates.

She is very passionate about environment sustainability and social community activities, and is actively involved in Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation’s initiatives under its Born to Be’ and Made for Good’ programmes in Hong Kong.  Deutsche Bank received the Caring Company award (2019/2020) from The Hong Kong Council of Social Service for its social community projects in helping the underprivileged and students with special education needs in Hong Kong.

Donna holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Murdoch University, Western Australia and Diploma in Management from Malaysian Institute of Management.   She attended the ASEAN Senior Management Development Programme by Harvard Business School, INSEAD-Deutsche Bank Women Global Leadership program in France, and Executive Program for Women Leaders in Stanford University in USA.

Ms Dianne Tan

Dianne Tan is from a small town of Sungai Petani, Kedah which is 30km from Penang. Dianne is a graduate from University of Western Australia. Upon completion of her degree in Bachelor of Commerce, Dianne went back to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and joined Pacific Bank Berhad (currently Maybank Berhad) as a management trainee. Within 1 year she was promoted to be the assistant branch manager of Pacific Bank Berhad, Gleneagles Branch. Because of her skills in marketing, Dianne was recruited by Hong Leong Securities to become their in-house analyst in the timber and plantation sector. Within 1 year she moved into Hong Leong Securities trading desk.

In 1998, Dianne joined Merrill Lynch Asia in Singapore for 2 years as a buy side analyst and was then venture into fund management for equities trading. Later she was sent to Merrill Lynch Hong Kong where she worked in fund management for South East Asia Small Cap Emerging Market Fund servicing ultra high networth clients and institution fund on secondary equities market. Dianne was send to Beijing, China in 2004 to work with new A shares clients in China.

In 2017, Dianne decided to move to new career. Dianne set up her new startup, House of Qin Group Limited, whereby it has two businesses:

(a) M Academy China – which is one of the top artists training centre for music and dance

(b) House of Qin Artist Management – which is an artist management company for new and existing artists in China

Since our set up, we have successfully trained 35 new artists and placed them into 10 different reality shows in China in 2018 and debuted our own singers in the market.

Dianne believes that nothing is impossible in life if one strives to work on it. Dianne hopes to give the younger generation a better way into the entertainment industry in China and believe China deserves to have its own international idol. Dianne will spend the next couple of years building this.

Mr Kia Jing Tan

Mr. Kia Jing Tan (“KJ Tan”)graduated from Deakin University, Australia. Mr. Tan is a Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant with CPA Australia and a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Mr. Tan has more than twenty years audit and management experience in finance field, out of which ten years was with Global Big Four Accounting Firms.  He has also participated in the IPO and listing of corporate clients in major stock exchanges in Singapore, Hong Kong and United States of America, and is very familiar with China and overseas capital market and listed company capital value management. 

Mr. Tan joins Ambow Education Group (NYSE: AMBO), a US listed company in 2008, and has since served in the role of Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance and ultimately, Chief Financial Officer of Ambow Education Group. He has helped Ambow to establish a solid international standard financial management system and strategic development structure that suits the Company’s business demand. As a key core players of management team, he leads a series of the company’s financing activities, acquisitions, IPO and major shareholders restructuring of Ambow Education Group.

Mr Jeffrey Yap

Coming from a humble background did not stop Jeffrey to pursue his childhood dream of an international career in finance. His love and curiosity for international business and economics propelled him to self-finance his undergraduate studies in economics postgraduate studies in business.

Jeffrey was the youngest equity dealer in Malaysia on record and receive his representative license at 21 years old. His career took off in 2003 when he was headhunted to Hong Kong. In 2006 he was appointed as the regional head of debt derivatives for Rabobank at the very young age of 29. Jeffrey is very unique for being one of very few financial professionals in Asia that has worked, managed and built business at securities brokerage firm, treasury division of banks , global markets of investment banks, proprietary trading for banks, hedges funds, private equity firms, family offices and private banks. His breath of experience ranging from trading/investing across global equities, global fixed income, global FX and commodities, Asian local currency debt and derivatives would be hard to rival. Furthermore, his strong business acumen allows him to build significant businesses and manage successful teams regionally with strong mentoring and leadership experience. Regarded as a talented financial professional and thought leader by industry experts and peers, he is often invited to speak at major global conferences, and as guest lecturer with statutory bodies and financial associations.
